COOP and Mobility Services

Disaster recovery (DR) planning is no longer sufficient for large government organizations whose mandate is to continue to provide essential services as public institutions during and after a catastrophic event. eKohs’ Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Mobility Services, offered in partnership with Verizon Business and other strategic telecontinuity partners enable government agencies to take DR planning to the next level. eKohs’ COOP and Mobility Services are designed to help government agencies thrive in a catastrophic event with these added benefits.

  • Meet regulatory mandates for teleworking
  • Achieve greater organizational efficiencies
  • Get better use of tax dollars
  • Improve Agency staff morale through greater mobility options

Our services include:

Full COOP audit and architecture

  • COOP Audit—We conduct a Gap Analysis, Business Impact Analysis, and Risk Analysis to determine the current state of continuity capability, the possible impact to your operations in the case of a catastrophe and your organization’s current level of preparedness, mapped against mandate and mission..
  • Recovery Point and Recovery Time Objectives (RPO & RTO)--Developed out of the Audit, we provide you with a map for developing both COOP and DR plans and requirements.
  • COOP Budgeting—Based on the gap between current state and mandate and mission, and we provide you with a cost model to close that gap.
  • Systems Architecture—We look at how well your systems are designed to function in a catastrophe and helps you determine the optimal systems design that helps you meet your Agency’s objectives.
  • Processes (roles)—Key to any true COOP solution is a clear understanding of who does what since people are the most important component in your organization. We help you to both define essential roles and functions.
  • Communication Plan—Maintaining contact with your staff at any time regardless of location is critical. eKohs has already identified and established working relationships with leading teleworking and mobility partners to design a Communications plan that enables anytime, anywhere outbound and inbound voice and secure remote data communications.

COOP IV&V—If you have already developed a COOP Plan, eKohs’ team of experienced CIO’s can provide objective Independent Verification and Validation services for COOP assurance delivering an objective appraisal and gap analysis of the current COOP plan, as measured against mandate and mission.

Mobility Technology Strategy and Selection— Defining a teleworking strategy that is supported by daily operations staff, that enhances organizational effectiveness and that is available and accessible during and after a catastrophic event is an essential component of the overall continuity of government strategy. eKohs guides you through the selection process based on your agency requirements and assists you in the implementation of the infrastructure, policies, and training. We help you to identify and acquire capabilities, including anytime anywhere inbound and outbound calling, emergency messaging, teleworking, and network survivability offered through strategic eKohs partners.

Disaster Testing—Testing removes the question of whether the plan will work. eKohs works with you to develop test scenarios and evaluations to assess your organization’s level of preparedness.
